Before the Madrid tournament, the Spaniard said that if his form did not improve, he would probably miss Roland Garros. After that, Nadal went three rounds, including defeating the 11th racket of the world, Alex de Minaur.


I do not believe in this. I think he is a master of first under-promising and then over-delivering. In his heyday, he would go into the first round at Roland Garros against someone ranked 70th in the world and say: I don`t know, it could go either way.


I`m used to not really believing these words. Honestly, I think he`s just working from the attitude that things might not go according to plan. But I will try to prevent this from happening and give it my all.
