Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Olympic quarterfinals - 6:3, 7:6 (3). In the second set, Djokovic was down 0:4. At 3:5, he came away with a triple set point. Conceding, the Serb called for a physio on the court due to problems with his operated knee.
37-year-old Djokovic is the oldest Olympic semi-finalist since 1988, when tennis returned to the competition program.
He is also the only player with four Olympic semi-finals (no one else has more than two). He lost all the previous ones: in Beijing 2008 he took bronze, and in London 2012 and Tokyo 2024 he became fourth.
