Alfa Romeo pilot Valtteri Bottas spoke about unfulfilled dreams in Mercedes.


Bottas spent five seasons in the German team, won ten Grand Prix and twice became Formula 1 vice-champion.


I really, really reproached myself - especially in the first seasons. I wanted everything at once, and then it was difficult to cope when it didn`t happen, when I didn`t win the title in the first few years. It was hard to accept it. Now we are not fighting for victories or championships. The sensations are slightly different, and I personally feel slightly less pressure. But it also happens because of the atmosphere in the team.


Every season of my career I try to perform as well as I can, I try to have perfect weekends, to be the best version of myself - that has not changed. But at the same time, I accept the fact that there is a long road ahead. We can`t go straight from ninth or eighth to second or first.


Every team I`ve been to works really hard. F1 is such a competitive sport that everyone wants to get better and better. It seems to me that the champion team and the team fighting for the ninth position are working as hard as everyone else. In this regard, I did not see the difference.
